Buying Swiss pass

Hi,
Want your help folks. I'll travel from Milan to Luzern. I've planned to catch train from Milan to Lugano. Then buy Swiss pass and take the train for Lucerne. Is it possible to buy Swiss Pass from Lugano Train station?
Thanks.

Yes, it is.

Information at http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/switzerland-rail-passes

I don't know about the shipping from Rick Steves, but there must be a Swiss Travel outlet in India somewhere, maybe Delhi? You should be able to get it before you leave and get it validated either before you leave Milano or on the train. You shouldn't have to waste at least an hour leaving the train in Lugano. The Italian portion will have to still be bought but they should be able to do it to Chiasso and then the Swiss Pass would take over.

Thank you Nigel.
Actually we wanted to buy the pass online just few days before of our start as the price of the pass is fixed. But during the time of online form filling it was noticed they'll deliver the pass by post. And it'll take few days. There is no option for soft copy unlike trainitalia tickets. We don't have enough time in our hand to recieve the post before we start for our Europe trip.
B.T.W. is t possible to buy the Swiss Pass from Milan Central itself?

Not from Milan Central, that isn't in Switzerland!
If you look at the official website FAQ here it says:
At which railway station ticket counters can I purchase a Swiss Travel System ticket?
Swiss Travel System tickets can be purchased in Switzerland at most railway stations, as well as in the Tourist Offices of Zurich, Bern, Basel, Geneva, and Lucerne. (Swiss Transfer Tickets cannot be purchased in Switzerland). Swiss Cards can be purchased only at the following points-of-sale: Basel EuroAirport, Basel (Swiss Federal Railways), Brig, Buchs (Canton St. Gallen), Chiasso, Constance (Germany), Geneva, Geneva Airport, Koblenz (Switzerland), Schaffhausen, St. Margrethen, Tirano (Italy), Zurich and Zurich Airport.

"most railway stations" means only the ones which have manned ticket offices.

danette it is usually easier if you post your own question instead of hitching a ride on somebody else's particularly after the thread has ended - answers go to them now instead of to you and people may not look back at the thread if they think it is finished.

Anyway, since you didn't, are all your train rides direct to and froms, or do you want to get off and smell the roses?

How many adults / children? How long from now? (also if you have your own thread then posters can see the question instead of the original question) Do you have a need for First Class, or a preference for it at the additional cost it carries or can you use second class which gets you there at the same time but with only as much legroom as you might get in business class on planes?
