Buying cable car tic online using SBB app or tic machine

Hi, am wondering if its easier buying tic for cable/funicular rides easier on the SBB mobile or at the ticketing machine? Am told by SBB that these mountain stations are privately owned and i gather that ticketing machine work differently.
How would the ticketing machine scan my STP on my mobile? Can you please walk me thru the process of buying a tic using a tic machine with STP.
As regards cable car tic purchased using SBB app, how do I retrieve and display the tic for scanning at the gates?

Was also informed that not all cable car rides can be purchased using the SBB mobile app. Back to the queue for a better experience?

Thank you and appreciate your assistance

For the cable/funicular rides that you cannot purchase on SBB, it’s super easy to just buy the tickets at the ticket counter near the cable/funicular station. Just tell them what you want to do and they will get you the right ticket. For example, at the Mannlichen ticket window, you can say you want a one-way ticket up and then a ticket from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen. This will be a paper ticket.

With an STP you may still have to pass via the ticket office to get a free ticket that can open the turnstiles to the cable car, or often you just show it to a staff member. Those places are all manned, so there is a human around to deal with different scenarios.
