We will be spending 3 weeks in Switzerland during May and June, 2023. We have Rick's 10th edition guidebook which was written before the pandemic. His 11th edition Switzerland guidebook will be available in April, 2023. Is it worth buying the newer edition to take with us, or just use the 10th edition with added updates for this edition from his website? Thanks!
I believe the Online updates are just changes to things in the previous edition, not things that will have been added to the newest edition (lodging, eating, maybe some new sights, or new takes on old sights) that weren’t in the old edition. If you’re relying on Rick’s book for lots of resources to cover much of your 3 weeks, the latest edition will give you the most possible information. Covid will have changed many places; maybe visiting Switzerland won’t have been affected as much as some destinations, but that alone could be reason for a post-2020 edition.
I wouldn’t get the new one. None of the sights have changed. I have the 9th and 10th editions and noticed zero changes between the two.
I would supplement your current book with the Switzerland tourism website.

And all the mountains have websites so you can see operating and maintenance schedules. For example, google “Schilthorn” and that will take you to all the info. needed for Schilthorn.

I have been to Switzerland 3 times post-covid and the “pre-covid” guidebooks were more than sufficient.
I agree with Carrie. Even with the newest guide book, info is at least 9 months old. Always check for current info online in real time.
Have a great trip!
I am very skeptical about just how updated the tour books are. I will skip long story, but I don’t trust the information to be up to date. Always double check prices, opening hours, ticket policies via the web.
