We want to travel this August 3rd from Tirano to Lugano. I found the website for the Bernina Express bus (https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-us/planning/offers/bernina-express-bus-ticket-from-lugano-or-tirano/#availabilitycalendar) and I see how to buy the actual ticket, but how do I buy the required seat reservation? Do I have the correct website?
www.myswirzerland is a travel agency. Rhaetische Bahn operates the bus as part of the Bernina Express. It only goes once per day and a seat reservation is mandatory. Start here.

Just to clarify — MySwitzerland.com isn’t a travel agency. It’s actually run by Switzerland Tourism, the country’s official tourism board.
Thanks for the information.
I have a related question…….I intend to buy a one month Swiss half fare card for my wife and for me. Is there any reason why I need to order them ahead of time, or can I just wait until we show up at the Basel train station in July?
You can buy tickets at the Half Fare price now. You just need to show the HFC when you travel and the conductor checks tickets. If you don't have it, you are traveling on an invalid ticket, and you have a problem.
You can indeed just buy your HFC when you are here. You can also buy any ticket you want also when you are here. Buying tickets shortly before travel is the norm still.
