Bus from Lauterbrunnen Station to Schilthornbahn Cable Car

Hi all,

Thanks so much for your friendly advice. I'm staying in Gimmelwald in September. Rick recommends taking the PostBus #141 from the train station to the cable car in Stechelberg. I was trying to check out the bus schedule here: https://moovitapp.com/index/en/public_transit-line-141-Gen%C3%A8ve-3522-1127642-146672084-3

It says it only runs Friday and Saturday. Not sure if that's bad info or not.

So first question: Is this accurate?
And second: What's the best alternative to get 2 people laden with luggage from the train station to the cable car?

Many thanks,

Andy

It also shows up at www.sbb.ch/en
Although technically the Swiss train schedule site, it includes boats, buses, trams, mountain lifts. So just put in Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg and you'll have it.

Put the SBB app on your phone and type in your starting point and destination and it will give you all the options. The bus + cable car runs from around 6:30 in the morning until around 11:30 at night - every day of the week, all year long. People live there and it’s a car free village, so they provide access to it as such.

Swiss public transit runs 7 days a week, from morning till late in the evening. This because the people here expect it to actually be useful.
Use www.sbb.ch for times, accept no substitutes :-)

Not if you are travelling from somewhere to Gimmelwald you do not need to buy tickets for each train, bus and cable car separately. You can buy a ticket from eg. Zurich Airport to Gimmelwald, and it will include all transportation. And you can plan a trip between any two points in Switzerland (and most of the rest of Europe) on www.sbb.ch

Done and done! You know, there's a lot of misinformation on the internet! Who knew? Thanks all for the helpful tips.

I'm using Swiss Travel Pass so payment is less of an issue.
