Just to reiterate: In Switzerland there are no bus tickets. There are also no train tickets. There are travel tickets. And if you travel from one place to another, you buy on ticket, from that one place to that other place, and it does not matter if it is a bus, or a train, or a combination of busses, trains, cable cars, boats and hot air balloons (just kidding :-)
Public transit is fully integrated here. And it is simple to use. Do not overthink it. Use the SBB app for everything.

Thank you for all the information. One more question about the train. If I buy a point to point ticket. Am I correct in saying that includes the return trip back to my original starting point? If so...do I hop on any train back and show my original ticket? And do you recommend a travelers SIM card so I don't lose connection when traveling?
