Hello! We will take a river boat cruise in June, and have a pre-trip extension in Lucerne. The tour company has booked us for two nights at the Palace Hotel at Burgenstock. It looks beautiful - but the restaurant prices are sky high! Are there any somewhat affordable restaurants in that area? If we go into Lucerne for dinners, is it difficult to get back to Burgenstock in the evening? Any advice about Lucerne restaurants? I appreciate your suggestions for making the most of these two days. Thank you!
I would suggest traveling into Lucerne in the morning to sightsee and have a nice substantial lunch. Pick up a few items in Lucerne to bring back to your hotel to have a small meal/picnic in the evening.
Thank you!
And the restaurant prices is all you are concerned about......
As a Swiss, I'd say find another hotel, even by Swiss standards that is over priced.
Fully agree with Jim... That is a $1,000/night hotel, and there's no way the price of the tour does not reflect this.
