Brig to Interlaken train question

We are taking the glacier Express and staying the night in either Zermatt or Brig, and then taking the scenic train from Brig to Interlaken the next day.

We’ve done it before, and I know it’s called via Goppenstein and Kandersteg, but it’s been a few years and I can’t find info on how to purchase it.
I remember there was no reservations, but don’t remember if there was a specific train number, we took, and train time tables, etc.
can anyone help please? Thanks!

Note that for the purpose of ticketing the route does not matter. Any normal Brig - Interlaken ticket is valid both via the old and the new route, and that the whole day. So you do not need to worry too much when purchasing a ticket.

So just buy a ticket Brig - Interlaken Ost , then find your train, and get on. The only reason that you enter "Goppenstein" in the trip planner is that this way you can tease out the times of the slow train. The trip planner by default gives the fastest route, and hides slower trains. The train you want is the RE to Bern that leaves either on 34 or 36 minutes past the hour.
