Yes, I have thought about this one a few times as well. I think it would be great, especially when coming from Luzern (only about an hour away). From Bern or Interlaken area it is further, and, no matter where you come from, there is about a half an hour bus ride as part of the journey. For that reason I haven't tried it yet - but the bonus of no direct train access can often be fewer tourists/crowds to deal with.
