During our next visit one of our days we plan to take a boat on the lake to Brienz and spend some time there having lunch and seeing th the town before taking a train back to owengen in the evening. We will be staying in Wengen and will have Swiss Travel Passes.
1) Do the boat trips we would want depart from Interlocken OST? Easy to find the boat docks on foot from the train station?
2) How long is the boat trip to get to Brienz? Since were are planning lunch there somewhere a rough time estimate would help.
3) Any particularly good restaurants you would suggest in Brienz for lunch?

Yes. the boat is easy to find. Get out of the train at Interlaken OST and follow the sings.

My suggestion: Aim for the 11:07 departure from Interlaken, as that is an old fashioned paddle steamer.
Note regarding the spelling: It is "Interlaken". The town was renamed that way especially to make it easy for English speaking tourists to correctly pronounce and write the place. And people seem to still get it wrong...

I have found the boat to be less crowded when getting on at Brienz, compared to getting on at Interlaken. So, one option is to take the train to Brienz, then take the boat from there to Interlaken.

Excellent idea, taking the boats. STP works, just show the QR code. Brienz to Interlaken about 2 hours. I took it this evening from Brienz to Interlaken OST for dinner. From the boat, you just walk a few hundred meters under the train station, then you are in Interlaken Ost. In Brienz, the boat stops right at the train/bus station.
We stay at the Weisses Kreuz across the street, but for a nice meal you could walk a couple hundred meters west to the Steinbock. Great food. Ate there last week.

We also chose to take the train to Brienz and the boat back. It worked well for us.

Brienz to Interlaken about 2 hours.
That must have been a slow boat you were on. :-)
It should take 1 hour and 13 minutes.
