Booking Into Murren End of July Travel Question

For travel into and out of Murren:

Are there certain days when transport is not available (sunday, etc)?

What is the best source for scheduling trains, cable cars, and buses in the region?

Thank you!

Sharing your travel dates would be helpful. There are times of year when maintenance is done. For example, in late October I arrived in Lauterbrunnen expecting to take a train to Murren only to find it out of operation. (Yes, I had done research, but it was a lot to grasp apparently!) A super helpful and friendly bus driver explained we could buy a bus ticket and two cable car tickets, all from him and with our half fare card, easy peasy--we were in Murren within minutes.
The system is so comprehensive, it would be rare to find yourself stranded at any point.
We scheduled nothing in advance, I don't think it is necessary. But again, share your dates so others can advise.
SBB is the train company and it is very helpful to have the app.

ETA Thanks for adding the month. I don't think there are as many closings then, but hopefully others can advise on any prebooking you should do for summer season.

Generally, all transportation runs everyday unless down for a scheduled maintenance. You can easily find the maintenance schedules on-line as they are always posted well in advance. For example, this page shows you the down times for Schilthorn and the Allmendhubel funicular:

https://schilthorn.ch/en/Infos/Timetable__and__Tariff

I found this by googling “Schilthorn maintenance”

Like valadelphia mentions, if you use the SBB app, you can see all the times there. July schedules won’t be out yet, but you can plug in a “to” and “from” to get an idea of times and how often that particular transportation runs.

If you'd like details on anything more specific, just let us know.

it's not possible to get marooned there, if that is your concern. Watch some vlogs and see how the town is laid out - cable cars at one end, trains at the other. Or if need be you could jump and pray.

You don't really need to schedule transport, except perhaps trains into and out of Lauterbrunnen.

You’ll be fine at the end of July. When you get to Switzerland, you can book your ticket all the way through to Murren blm (the Murren train station) to avoid lines and go right from the interlaken ost-Lauterbrunnen train to the tram that takes you directly to the Murren blm bound train. It’s a lot easier and less stressful than it seems.

Alternatively, get your ticket to Lauterbrunnen, and you can choose either the tram to train or bus to the end of the valley for a gondola to Murren (it’s the other end of the Murren, so might even be more convenient for you, depending on where you’re staying). Hope that makes sense!

Transportation is always available. How would the people of Mürren get around otherwise? There are two routes in to the village and maintenance is planned so that always at east one is available.
