Our group of 4 adults is looking at spending a day while in Lucerne in July doing the "hop on hop off" type of boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. We are having difficulty finding a price for this as even the English site gives the timetable and pricing in another language (?German). Can anyone provide me with an English site for find the information we are looking for? Many thanks.

I assume you have found https://www.lakelucerne.ch/en/
The fares are in Swiss Francs by kilometer. One way or round trip.
Google translate appears to handle the headings and footnotes well - just cut and paste.
Einselreisende - Single traveler
Erwachsene - Adult
Tagesbillet - Daily Ticket
Tageskarte - Day Ticket
Halbtax - Half-fare if you have a discount card, etc.
Spazier- und Stadtschiff (hopp on, hopp off im Luzerner Seebecken) = Walking and city ship (hop on, hop off in the Lucerne lake basin)
It is a great place, beautiful and fun.
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to respond and for the detailed explanation which helped me immensely.
If you have a Swiss Pass then just jump on and off the boat wherever and whenever you like. Boats are part of the integrated Swiss Transportation System. From Lucerne we like to visit the lakeside towns of Vitznau and Weggis where you can begin your trip up the Rigi.
Not sure how long you will be in Lucerne or where else you will be. On our first trip to Switzerland, we mainly stayed in Lucerne due to my work. We found the best deal was to get the Lucerne Pass or Card. It was good for all mountains, boats, and trains. It covered half of the train fro Zurich and the entire train to Interlaken.
Thanks. Is the Lucerne pass the same as the Tell pass? If so, we have calculated we are better off buying the half fare card based on our itinerary.
This boat ride is better than those by Interlaken.
We took a paddlewheel steamer cruise to Weggis. We didn't do a tour, just chose that route. Once there, we walked along the water's edge, and found a small monument to Mark Twain.
I loved reading this quote: "This is the charmingest place we have ever lived in for repose and restfulness, superb scenery whose beauty undergoes a perpetual change from one miracle to another, yet never runs short of fresh surprises and new inventions. We shall always come here for the summers if we can." - Mark Twain
We had a lovely lunch near the dock, and then caught another paddlewheel boat back to Lucerne. It was a gorgeous day, and that short day trip was one of our Lucerne highlights. We'd been to Mt. Titlis a few days earlier, so did not go to Mt. Rigi. We were utterly content to just cruise on that beautiful lake and explore the serene beauty of Weggis. (This was day 16 of a 17 day bustling trip in France, then Switzerland...the serenity was just what we needed, apparently! :-) )
Enjoy your trip!
Laurie
Yep, no need for a tour. You’re perfectly capable of buying a ticket and stepping onto the boat without paying a guide to buy your ticket for you.
Is the Lucerne pass the same as the Tell pass?
No. The "Lucerne Pass" (actual name "Gästekarte Luzern" / "Visitor Card Lucerne") is a free card given to all people staying in hotels in Luzern. It is only valid in the town of Luzern.
The Visitor Card gives visitors staying in an accommodation in Lucerne free travel on public transport in the city of Lucerne. It offers free use of buses and trains (2nd class) within zone 10 (excluding boat trips).

The "Tell Pass" covers a much larger area, including the whole of Vierwaldstättersea (aka Lake Lucerne) and surrounding area. You have to pay for it.

Excited to learn I can travel on this lake with my Swiss travel pass. Only in Lucerne for a night but love a good scenic boat ride!
Thanks for clarifying Chris F. as this was my understanding of the Lucerne pass too. I think Warst must have been referring to a different pass rather than the Lucerne pass.
