We are cycling for 3 weeks in July doing a circuit ex Zurich, Lucerne, Murren, Bern, Gruyeres, Lausanne, Biel. We then have allocated a week to see the mountains of Switzerland and are thinking of taking a train from Zurich to St Moritz, staying 2 nights, Bernina Express to Tirano and bus to Lugano for another 2 nights. I also would like to go to Zermatt and then back to Zurich. Suggestions for best way to do the train sector encompassing the best scenery. Or am I just doubling up with more of the same going to Zermatt? Suggestions greatly appreciated. What would be the most cost effective train pass for this?
Have uconsidered seeing the Dolomites in N . Italy???
They are almost as beautiful as lauterbrunnen valley and surrounds. Ck it out since u will be going south to italy.
I know nothing about the Dolomites but will do some research. Thanks for the suggestion.
The Half Fare Card is usually the most cost effective way to go. If you have bikes with you, you will also need a bike ticket to take it on the train. I don't know all the details, but research it you self.

No we will have ditched the bikes by then, just our luggage with us.
