Best trips from Geneva?

We will be traveling to Geneva via train from Avignon this summer, and will have 10 days to spend before we will need to be in Paris. Looking at splitting the time between two places, but open to suggestions. What would be the best options? We will not have a car. Thanks in advance!

Annecy and Lausanne are day-trippable from Geneva, although some might
argue they are worth some time in themselves.

If you are worried about a hot summer, some time in the mountains would
provide a different climate and alternative activities. Chamonix and Morzine
are very accessible from Geneva, but I'd spend a night+ in either place.

If you're a foodie, Lyon is 2 hrs by train, and has sights as well. Easy access
to Paris from Lyon also.

Depending on your schedule and your penchant for crowds, there will definitely
be festivals going on (e.g, Montreux Jazz Festival).

I suspect Geneva is a fine place to live, but it doesn't have all that much in
the sightseeing category. I would lean towards minimizing my time in Geneva
and spending time in other places.

I assume you're going to Paris for the Olympics, but if not, start booking now....
