Best Scenic trains in the Alps?

Planning to start in Geneva and take some of the scenic routes across Switz to Austria and finish in Venice. Looking for suggestions as to the most efficient manner to use the trains to see the sights... Craig

Working your way eastwards from Geneva, you could take the Golden pass railway from Lake Geneva to Interlaken for the Berner Oberland, hop south to Zermatt via the Loetschberg railway, head east to St Moritz via Glacier Express, from where you can also travel on the Bernina Railway as an excursion. You can then continue eastwards to Austria via train to Scuol and bus to Landeck, the nearest Austrian railhead.
Just one of many ways to cross Switzerland from west to east!

Shortening that a little bit, get off the Golden Pass route at Spiez, then the Loetschberger to Brig, Glacier Express to St Moritz, then Scuol then Postbus to Landeck. Shortening that a bit more, just take the regular train from Geneva to Brig and from Chur to Buchs SG where you get the Railjet to Innsbruck.

Another is the Golden Pass all the way to Luzern, then the Voralpen Express to St Gallen, then a train to Buchs SG.
