My husband and I will drive from Tremezzo to Zurich (where we fly out) in October. We have 2 nights to stay between the two before returning the car and spending our last night in Zurich.
Does anyone have suggestions? I was thinking Pontresina. We are open to suggestions and also places to stay.

Many here like Pontresina. I've never been, except to pass through it on the Bernina Express. I think you are on the right track heading to Zurich via the Bernina Pass. Ourselves, we quite enjoyed staying in Chur (where the Bernina Express ends). Chur has no special sights, its just a nice old Swiss town, with a pleasant Altstadt (old town), many restaurants and a peaceful wine country vibe (it is, in fact, Switzerland's wine country). From Chur you can get direct trains to Zurich (while in Pontresina you would have to connect, but that's a minor inconvenience).
