Best pass to buy in Berner Oberland

Staying 3 days in Gimmelwald. Will leave car at Stechelberg. Won't be hiking, but want to see as much of area as possible.
Do we need the Jungfraubahnen Pass or just purchase individual tickets? Any suggestions?

All depends on EXACTLY what lifts you plan on taking. If the total full fare tickets are less than the cost of a 3-day Jungfrau Pass, then the answer is no. Note that the Jungfrau Pass DOES NOT UNCLUDE the Schilthornbahn lft from Stechelberg to Gimmelwald or up to Muerrren and Piz Gloria.

There is also the Berner Oberland Regional Pass, which will include the Shilthornbahn up to Gimmelwald and Muerren, and a 50% reduction from Muerren to Piz Gloria, and a 25% reduction for the Jungfraujoch bahn from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch.

Thanks for the reply. There doesn't seem to be a pass that covers all the lifts & trams.

The Jungfraujoch train from Kleine Scheidegg up always has to be paid for, even though passes do give you a discount. The Schilthornbahn above Muerren can be included in a winter regional ski pass.

Could be beautiful Fall weather or chilly rain. Snow, while a long shot, is not out of the question.

The Berner Oberland Regional Pass covers everything, you just have to pay the additional stipend to go to the Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch. In four trips I found that is the best pass for the area.

The 10-day Berner Oberland Pass covered everything for us and allowed us to save time and move quickly, which also helped us to find a seat before the hordes of tour groups and other travelers as we traveled all around the Wengen/Lauterbrunnen/etc. area, as well as to and from Bern this September. After this pass expired, we bought a 3-day Jungfrau Pass, which required us to also pay bus drivers and cable car operators in areas we wanted to go. Regarding the Jungfrau Pass, we may have broken about even or maybe saved a little money. It depends on exactly which areas a person wishes to go, and I'm not experienced enough to give advice on that. We used the Swiss Travel Pass to get from and back to Zurich, and for boats and cables cars around Luzern.

Thank you for the response. Think we may try the Berner Oberland Pass. We have a car so just want the pass that gets us to areas not accessible by car.
