Best Pass or No Pass in Muerren

After arriving Interlaken Ost around 4:30pm at the start of October, we will have just 2 full days staying in Muerren. I am considering one of the passes, such as the 3 Day Swiss Pass which covers up to Muerren and the Schilthorn where we want to visit. But I realize that pass is best for those who want to see most of the country. And we also want to go up to Jungfroch on one day. Then there is the Bernese Oberland Pass and Half off Swiss Pass.

Along with the transfer from our train up to our hotel, I'm sure we will go up and down to Lauterbrunnen a few times, and up for hikes, so all those trains and cable cars can add up. And those mountains are so very expensive to add to our costs.

This is very confusing to me, so I am hoping for suggestions. Thank you in advance!

I very much doubt that a Swiss travel Pas will save you significant money for a two day visit in Murren. Remember, you trips to the Schilthorn and Jungfroch are very much weather related. If they are completely socked in, there may be very little value in even going to either of them.

Think carefully before committing yourself to a pass.

I found the STP 3 day a good deal at 232 CHF. It gives you more options if it is fogged in on the top of mountains you can go somewhere else.
I went to Bern (the Paul Klee museum and many others are covered with the Swiss Travel pass ) Wengen, Zermatt. and Luzern from Murren. I took a boat from Luzern to Mt Rigi all covered, You still have to leave Switzerland and the pass covers you to the border

I agree with Jazz+Travels, it sounds expensive at first, but then if you price each trip you plan on making a la carte, you'll be surprised at how fast it adds up. For us, the 3-day pass ended up being about the same price if we paid for each leg, but we had the added flexibility of not having to visit the ticket machines every time which helped us make some tight connections. Also, if you are traveling with younger children, they are free with the Swiss Pass, which saved us a lot too.

First of all you NEVER want to travel to Jungfrau in 2 different days. It’s a waste of your precious vacation time. You’ll check the weather forecast BEFORE you ascend... not after you’re there.

I agree with 2 days going to Jungfroch. I guess I was remembering a travel guide video who went again the second day due to weather (which I did plan on checking every day). But it can still cloud up regardless. So jus forget that comment. Thank you all for your input.

Actually with only 2 days I would recommend spending your time in this stunning area by visiting the alpine villages, Schilthorn...and just bypass the Jungfrau. It’s expensive, time consuming, crowded.
