We are looking at the Best of Switerland tour in 2018 and at the end of the tour would like to go to Venice for 4 or 5 days. What would the best way to get to Venice from Bern ?

Train is about 7 hrs. Flying would also take at least that when you consider transport to and from airports and waiting time at the airports. Personally I'd take the train.

If you're able to add a day, I would take the train into Italy, dropping down to Stresa. Stay there 1 1/2 days and enjoy the beautiful islands to visit. Then take the train to your finale at Venice for 3-4 days.

About 6.5 hours for your best direct train connection.
