Best of Switzerland Tour

How are the hotels for this Rick Steves 12 day tour? Would you recommend the tour? Any other comments about this tour. We are active 68 and 65 yr olds so walking 6-8 per day is fine.

This is a fantastic tour!
We did it pre-Covid, so the itinerary has probably been changed a bit. Switzerland is an incredibly beautiful country. The Alps are hard to adequately describe.
I would look at the Trip Reports , Reviews, and Scrapbooks for impressions of this tour.
We fell in love and have been back over and over!

I enjoyed this tour tremendously. Took it eight years ago and was mesmerized by Switzerland’s majestic beauty. Revisited Switzerland in 2022, 2024 and 2025. Some areas are now quite expensive but worth it.

We just returned from this tour a week ago. At 73 & 80, we had no trouble keeping up with the activity level. The miles mentioned are frequently optional hikes/walks that you do on your own. You probably already know that hotels can change from one tour to the next, but if you have your hotel list I can tell you if we stayed at the same. We ran into rain in several places and this is one trip I would have liked to have collapsible hiking poles for going downhill. They did have loaner poles at Ebenalp and there was a second-hand shop close to the first hotel that had some.

I took this tour last fall and posted a trip report in the Trip Reports thread. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!

I just returned from this tour. One of the best tours and our guide Jade was amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and so willing to help anyway she could. She made the bus rides educational and fun as well. Many highlights for me, too many to mention. As I look back with rested fresh eyes, I am so glad to have done this tour.
I can not wait to revisit Switzerland in the future. Ed B
