Take a boat ride to the cogwheel train to Mt. Rigi during the day, and in the evening see the sunset using the open air Cabrio cable car to Mt Stanhope.

Luzern is our 1st day

I took this tour in 2019 and loved it. I also arrived early and did the trip described above (Golden Ticket, Mt. Pilatus) and it was a great way to spend the day. If you are still at the Hotel Des Alpes for your first hotel, you can simply purchase the ticket from the front desk. One ticket covers all modes of transport for this circuit. You walk a block out from the hotel to the bus stop where you catch a bus that goes near the start of the gondolas that go up to Mt. Pilatus. They give you a map and clear directions at the hotel.

This ride is very scenic and you arrive at the top where the views are amazing, there is a restaurant, and also several short hiking trails. Spend some time enjoying the Mountain. Next you take a cogwheel train down to the lakeshore. Also scenic and an interesting experience. I ate lunch at the bottom and then boarded the Lake Steamer back to Luzern. It docks just a few blocks from the hotel. This is also extremely scenic.

This trip was a fun exploration and just the right amount of activity and "riding" time to help transition through the time zones with your body.
