My husband and I are staying in Murren and are looking for a great place for fondue. We don't mind going to Interlaken or even Grindelwald for it. We would like the typical cheese fondue appetizer but the meat with hot plate entree (not a meat fondue). Does anyone know of a great place around here? Thanks!!!

If you are staying in Muerren, I don't think you will have to go far to get the "best" fondue, it is a fairly ubiquitous dish there. The "best" will usually mean best ambience, like on a picnic table with a great view of the Jungfrau. Ask Chris, (posted on nearby thread, "Suitable base in berner oberland"), he lives there.

The Stager Stubli, Hotel Bellevue, Hotel Blumental...all have Fondue on their menu.

At this time of the year it more of a tourist dish, it is really more of a winter dish.

I have never had a bad fondue in Switzerland and there often are choices, such as if you do want herbs in it or don't want wine in it.
