My husband and I will be flying into Zurich in July. I LOVE to sew....and have a Bernina sewing machine that I love. Is it worth hubby and I driving the 50 miles to Steckborn from Zurich to take a tour of the Bernina Factory? May not be this way again anytime soon and wondering if I will regret not tasking this tour since we are so close. Thanks so much for your help. We will have a rental car.
I seem to recall you asking this question a while ago. The answer is still, "Why not?" I would definitely contact them in advance to see if it is possible.
I do not see anything on their website ( for Bernina Schweitz AG, not the US site) about factory tours. Not on their Facebook page. You might try the contact form on their website to ask:

Or if Steckborn has a community web page, they might be able to help.
I have no information on Bernina, but on the off chance you're heading towards Colmar/Strasbourg, France, you have to stop in Ribeauville. The Beauville factory is there and it is some of the most amazing fabric, tapestries and linens made today. The little factory store is amazing and has some great 'extras' bins as well as current lines of fabric and table/home decor.
