Bernina Express : Which direction has the best views

Greetings all
Depending on the price of the flight in two weeks from now I am trying to decide whether to fly into Italy and make my way North or into Switzerland to make my way South taking the Bernina Express.

Which way has the best view and what side of the train going North or South should one sit on?

I reviewed the route on Youtube. I will say I haven't been on it yet, but I had planned for April and from Switzerland to Italy. I don't think it matters which side you are on.

Also, if you aren't aware, there is a regular train several times a day that does the same route...but not the extra large windows. Certainly considerably cheaper and more flexible timing if that matters for your scheduling.

I like it both ways, and I never sit still in the seat. Back and forth all day. If you only look out one side you miss half the scenery. The train winds around all the time.

I generally prefer to be on the inside of the curve.

I don't think it matters which side of the train you sit on, as you'll have a view out of both sides of the train. I did the same thing as Nigel mentioned, and tended to move around to get the best view.

Are you planning to use the panoramic cars or a "regular" train? As I recall, the panoramic cars are designated with a "D" on the Bahn.de schedules. One point to mention is that taking photos through the large windows of the panoramic cars can be a bit of a challenge at times due to glare.
