We are trying to make reservations for the Bernina Express out of Chur for the end of September, but are told that it is too early to make the reservation. Does anyone know how far in advance tickets can be purchased?

You may be able to buy the reservation now. Domestic Swiss train tickets don't go on sale until 30 days in advance.

I was able to buy my reservations for that timeframe. We will have a Swisss Travel Pass.

I'm like you, Eleni, I like to book things in advance but I'm glad I did not in this case. We were hoping to take the Express when we stayed on Lake Como at the end of September one year. The weather did not co-operate, too misty or drizzly on almost all the days we had available.
