Bernina Express

Hello,
I am trying to reserve seats for Bernina Express train.
It shows on website that Kids under 6 travel free.
We have a 3 year old with us, and I have these questions:
1) do I need to reserve seats for him, if he wont be sitting in his own seat and instead on our laps?
2) When I add him and select "Children Upto 6 years" why does it add half fare 33 CHF price to ticket?

1) If he sits in your lap, no.
2) If you want a seat reservation your child will need a ticket.

I thought if he needs a seat, I would just have to pay the reservation fee since ticket is free for kids under 6.
