Berner Oberland pass vs Swiss pass confirmation

Hey Guys!
I know this topic has been hammered out more than a few times, but I would appreciate a confirmation to make sure I’m on the right page.

My wife and I (29-27 yo) will be traveling from Paris to Switzerland, via train (TGV through Basel). We will be staying 5 nights in Murren. Our plans are mostly on that side of the valley, but would like to make our way at least once across to the grindelwald side. We fly out of Zürich at the end of the trip.

The Berner Oberland pass looks to be the best option for us. We would have to buy train tickets from Paris to something like Interlaken. Then buy tickets Interlaken to Zürich on the way out.

The Swiss pass would cover us once we got into Switzerland. The train ticket difference coming in from Paris to other destinations in Switzerland seems minimal vs the price of Paris to Interlaken. The downside I see for this pass is crossing the valley.

Does this look correct? Thank you for the help!! Can’t wait for our trip

Since the Berner Oberland Pass is valid from Bern onward, it seems like it would be a lot cheaper to buy tickets from Paris to Bern than Paris to Interlaken. Buy the pass in Bern and use it from there to Muerren. When going to Zurich for the flight home, it is valid to Luzern, so use it that far and buy tickets from Luzern to Zurich airport for that section. So a 6-Day Berner Oberland Pass would work.

That's what I would have suggested too.

And, by the way, both Bern and Luzern are fun places to kick around, too.
