I have a 3 day regional pass for an upcoming trip and the website says that no validation is needed if the dates, name and passport# are on the print at home pass. I noticed that mine does not have the passport# on it, but everything else is there. Anyone else run into this problem? Should I write it in, in ink?
We used the BO Pass in June. I don’t recall that it contained the passport number. I don’t believe so, but not really sure. We did carry our passports when using the pass, as I believe the directions said to. We were occasionally asked to see the pass. They never asked to see the passports. Not that they couldn’t have. Just not our experience. They were satisfied just to see the pass.
I'll add, we bought our passes at the first train station within the BO region where we were first using the pass. Our passes must have been validated when we bought them, as we did not need to do anything further. We bought ours in Bern at the tourist office at the main train station. If you're in doubt, perhaps you can stop at an office that sells them at a train station or tourist office to verify they are good to go.
Should be OK. The only reason a name is on self-print tickets is to stop you printing it out twice and two people using the same ticket. Tickets bought from a station do not have a name on them, they are on special security paper and cannot be copied.
If the ticket inspector is being thorough (s)he will ask to see the ticket and ID (i.e. passport), usually they are trusting and don't bother.
