Berner Oberland Pass in May

I will be staying in Wengen in early May. Very confused in trying to determine if the 4 day BOpass, the 3 day Jungfrau pass, or just use the half are card is most economical for the below days. Also It will be too early for the Mannlichen cable from Grindelwald to Wengen, the Grutschalp lift is also closed for maintenance, The BOP no longer covers Wengen to Kleinescheidegg, or the Grindelwald-First r/t. But BOP added Schilthorn r/t.
1.st day Arriving in Wengen or Muerren from Luzern
2nd day Trip to Jungfraujoch
3 rd day trip to Schlithorn, Muerren, r/t plus if time permits visit Trummelbach Falls.
4th day trip to Grindlewald-First r/t
If a pass is worthwhile, which should I purchase prior to departure Europe? Any suggestions on which pass is the better one to purchase? Also ideas for lodging in Wengen is appreciated.
Thank you

Having been there that time a year 3 times I'd go with either the half fare card or splurge on a 4 day Swiss Travel Pass. My last visit it was raining in the BO one day but since I had the Swiss Travel Pass it gave me the option to go to Montreux on up to Rochers de Naye where wasn't raining. I also used the STP to take the boat tour on Lake Geneva and then went to Gruyeres to visit the H.R. Giger museum all covered by the STP. You have more options with either the Half Fare Card or the Swiss Travel Pass than the Berner Oberland Pass that time of year. It is not guaranteed that the day you want to go all the way up to the Jungfrau that it won't be fogged in where you can't see anything, that decision is made late the night before or early the day of after you know the weather.

Here is how you can find out - use the SBB app, you will want it when you travel anyway. Choose your departure and arrival destinations, when it is a mountain top, choose the top of the mountain as your destination.

Other than Luzern - Wengen, always choose a return trip. Now you have a ticket for the whole day for that route. It will allow you to explore the area, for example when you go to Jungfraujoch you can get off at Kleine Scheidegg, explore there, even if there is still a bit of snow on the trail/road you can easily walk down to the next train station Wengernalp to get a bit of a hike in. The mountains will look wonderful will all of the snow still on them, and it is an easy walk.

For your Schilthorn day you can spend time in Mürren and Gimmelwald and can also get off of the bus at the Trummelbach Falls stop, all on that ticket for the day.

Here is the breakdown with just the HFC.

  • Luzern - Wengen = 24.50
  • Wengen - Jungfraujoch return = 100.00 Via Kleine Scheidegg
  • Wengen - Schilthorn return = 69.30, Entrance to Trummelbach Falls = 16.00
  • Wengen - Grindelwald First return (note In SBB choose First (Grindelwald) as your destination) = 55.60

Compare all of this with the passes, adding in their cost plus the extra you will have to pay to see things they don't cover. I am guessing the HFC is the best deal financially.
