Bern - how much will the Berner Oberland Pass cover when I am there?

We will be getting the BOP and the Half Fare Card. We will spend a week in the Lauterbrunnen region and then travel up to Bern for 2 to 3 nights. Wondering if we should extend the BOP to cover the time we will be in Bern. I know the pass will cover our train travel from Lauterbrunnen to Bern, but does it matter whether we will have the BOP pass while in Bern or the HFC is enough?

Another part of this question is: after we leave Bern, we will go directly to Zermatt where we will spend 4 nights. We will be traveling to Zermatt in early June. We are giving it 4 nights to give us the best chance to visit and see the Matterhorn area since we have read that weather is unpredictable. I read about the Peak Pass. Is it worthwhile to also get the Peak Pass or the HFC is also enough in Zermatt?

The Berner Oberland Pass will get you on any train from Lauterbrunnen to Bern via Interlaken Ost. That's it. It does nothing for your internal Bern transport, but if you are staying in Bern you will get a transit card for buses, trams, electric buses, and the funiculars and elevators in Bern.

The Berner Oberland Pass also gets you on the slow train from Bern to Luzern via Langnau, and to Brig but only via the slow train over the mountains from Spiez to Brig. You must NOT use the fast train through the new tunnel which is nonstop Spiez to Brig.

Why not just get the Swiss Travel Pass? It will cover you in all 3 locations.
