We are going to Appenzell in May of this year and would like to know how strenuous the trip to Berggashaus Aescher will be for 60 somethings in pretty good condition. We are staying in Appenzell and would like to go up and have lunch at the restaurant. Can someone inform?

Due to extensive remodeling in 2017 they are not offering overnight stays but are offering lunch. It may be prudent to call ahead to make sure they are open for lunch the day you want to go. I have a lot of experience with remodeling and things seldom go as planned.
