Has anyone been to the Bellinzona Castles lately? Can you see all 3 in one day? Is it worth it? I do love visiting medieval castles.

Not lately, it's been a few years but yes, you can see them all in one day and it's very worth it. I would love to go back to Bellinzona and spend more time. It's beautiful there.

We were staying around Lenno at the time, five or six years ago, a fabulous daytrip by secondary roads. Bellinzona also has a small, nice central area and a decent market (I think it was a Saturday). We did two castles together, a long lunch, then I visited the third castle further up the hill on my own. If you are up to it, still a bit further up the hill is a really nice ruin of a church (???). Many of the homeowners on the hillside grow vines in their backyards.
