We may have a few hours to a half a day to do a little sight seeing in Basel before we catch a Viking Cruise. Any suggestions on what to see and do?

Marktplatz, the centre of the city. All trams go here.
Then go on to Münsterplatz (cathedral square). Click here for photo You will need a map to find this, but there is one posted in Marktplatz. There is a lookout behind the cathedral.

We had a similar experience. Definately take a ferry ride across the river. Great fun. also the Tingley Museum is intriguing. It has many sculptures and interactive exhibits. It was a highlight. Took the Viking River Cruise. Loved it !
