What is the easiest way to travel Basel to Zermatt ? We depart ship in Basel on Sept 4 and leave for US on Sept 6) Two days to travel. There 6 travelers. Ideas for train, trip to Matterhorn, and hotel. Thank you.

This website will help you explore options in Zermatt. I have set it to the “Matterhorn” page so you can look at the various excursions to viewpoints. (Note that no lift ascends the Matterhorn itself).
Use the “plan and book” button at the top of the page to see lodging options. There are lots of nice hotels to choose from, although you will need to book 2 or 3 rooms for 6 people.
