Hi!
I would like to take a day trip from Basel on Saturday, October 21, 2023, to Zermatt. I haven't been able to find any available tours for that date, so I was going to try and go on my own via the train....is this possible?

I'd take the 5:56 or 6:28 train if you can get up that early. And check the weather before you go.

Be aware that there is engineering work on the rail line from Visp to Taesch on Oct 21, so you will be taking a replacement bus for that section.
The full fare ticket from Basel to Zermatt is 121 CHF, and the same for the return. You can get that down to 61 CHF total round trip by buying a Saver Day Pass now. The longer you wait to buy the pass, the higher the price, so if you are committed, you need to buy it now.
