There seems to be a massive bad weather front coming at the end of this week and early next week in Switzerland. Unfortunately it coincides with our stay in the Bernese Oberland and other nearby areas. Seeking advice from the group members about what to do in such a situations as the activities in this area are primarily outdoor ones.

When I saw the title of your post, I first thought it was going to be about bad advice regarding the weather! LOL
Since it’s the weather that’s predicted to be bad, will you please elaborate - what is going to be bad? Severe storms, excessive heat, fierce winds, or something else?

We experienced a rainy summer day in Wengen. Figured we’d take a few connecting trains around since we had the rail pass and I like train rides in general. When we got to the next valley (low elevation) the rain had let up a bit so we figured we’d attempt to hike back to Wengen, we were equipped with food, water, rain gear and a map. Of course we got soaking wet on the way back but the hike was memorable and scenic, up through the foggy woods, above the lower clouds in the valley and back to Wengen for some hot drinks and a late lunch.

"Rain Today" rarely means "Rain All Day". Get a good weather forecast from a local source like MeteoSwiss, and use the hour by hour predictions.
Lately we have seen a lot of predicted rain not materialise however.
Anyway: The usual advise:
Start your day early. Weather is more stable in the mornings.
Look up regularly. See clouds coming? It could rain. check the rain radar on the MeteoSwiss app to see when it will arrive, and how long it may last. If needed just shelter for an hour.
And remember what Swiss mums say to their kids: It is only water, and you are not made of sugar.
Be prepared for extremely variable weather. You don't know what "variable" and "local" means until you've witnessed weather in the Alps. I have had it literally rain in one part of my garden while the other part stayed dry...
