Aristella Swiss Flair Hotel in Zermatt

In the past, in your Rick Steves Switzerland book, you recommended the Aristella Swiss Flair Hotel in Zermatt. Your new book does not recommend the hotel. Is it a good place to stay? What has changed?

The forum is frequented by other travelers, not Rick Steves or his staff.

That said, Booking dot com gives it a very high rating, so it must be pretty good. Perhaps RS has found other hotels that he feels are a better value. Just a guess.

The only thing I know about this hotel is that it is across the street from the shop where I rented skis in January. A 4 star hotel with a good location, maybe their price range no longer fits the RS guide book. Good reviews on Trip Advisor.

Hi - can't answer to RS recommendations. ;)

Their on-site restaurant, Spycher, gets rave reviews.

We are staying in late-August becaue they have a 'family room' (one of few) which has one room with a queen connected to a room with bunk beds and a Matterrhorn view. Would prefer an outdoor spa/pool, but can't have everything. Have seen nothing bad for direct bookings (i.e. not tour groups).
