HomeBase Ideas for April30-May6_2022 In/Out of Geneva

Hi all.

Travelling with some gal pals at the end of April. Flying in and out of Geneva. Would like to choose home base for the week and hit highlights from there. We don't want to rent a car or stay in hotels. We ike the idea of being near water/nature. Are there areas where getting to a train (without a car) you'd recommend?

Swiss Travel Pass seems like a good bet for us. What does/doesn't it cover?

I definitely have more questions, but this is a start. :)

Thanks.

Check out Lausanne and Montreux. In addition to train, there are boats across the lake. And various trains up to mountain trails.
Maybe check Vevey too? It is much smaller, but it sounds like that might be what you are going for? Montreux was very pleasant and easy to get around.
For a week, the pass might be overkill. I guess it depends on how much you are on the go, but check the math once you flesh out the plan. A half fare card might be sufficient. There is also a Montreux card: https://www.montreuxriviera.com/en/Z12398/montreux-riviera-card and a regional card: https://www.myswissalps.com/regionalpasslakegeneva
