Anyone take the UNESCO tour of Bern?

Hi Everyone—

Considering a public tour of Bern. We’ll be taking a day trip from Lucerne in April. I’m the trip planner and unofficial tour guide for my sister and her husband. I thought a tour might be something different. Or is it better to explore completely on our own?

Thanks!!

When we did the RS Swiss Tour, our RS Tour Director used Diccon Bewes as our local guide in Bern. It was a great tour. He has written a few books on the Swiss experience. I'm sure you can google him for more info and availability.
Enjoy Bern!

I was very happy using the self-guided walk for Bern in the Rick Steves Switzerland guidebook. It conveniently begins at the train station which was perfect for my day trip.

Thanks Pat and Christine!! Both good options. I’ll have to think on it some more. Either way, we are super excited to see Bern!! OK, we’re super excited to see everything. 😊

I love Bern, but one note-
many of the shops are closed on Sundays. It's a great city to explore without shopping, just saying.....
Hope you get a clear day and will be able to see the Jungfrau from the park.
Safe travels

We did a day trip to Bern and used Rick Steves' recommended walk from the guidebook. If you like curated experiences hire a local guide for a few hours. Enjoy!
