Hi everyone, My trip isn’t until May but I want to take advantage of the 25% off the SwissPass. I did look on the website to purchase but I did not see anything regarding refunds. Does anyone know if the passes are fully refundable should there be any type of travel restrictions?
In the past, full refunds were offered until five business days before your stated start date.
Thank you, I thought I read something at one time that they were refundable.
As Pat said, I m just buying one now , and it is fully refundable ( four days , but who is counting ? ) prior to use .
Make sure you check with whatever website you purchase from as the refund polices may differ. For example, with the Switzerland travel shop you can cancel for free until 4 working says before traveling. With Happy Rail, you can cancel for free until 1 day before travel.
Thank you so much everyone
Be sure the standard refund policy applies even during the sale. Discounted Eurail Passes have not been refundable in the past, whereas full-priced passes could be canceled for refund of 85%. (I realize the Swiss Pass is a different product and sold by a different company.)
This is a good point about checking on the actual refund on each site. I found that the Happy Rail site states no refund will be given on promotional passes. And it states that although it will refund up to 1 day prior, there is a 15% cancellation fee which will be deducted. The STC site charges more for the pass and must be cancelled 4 days prior to start date, but it refunds 100% if cancelled within the valid time period.
