I'm interested in doing a planned family trip for about 5 days for July 2027. We're celebrating our 40th anniversary and would like to invite family and friends. Is there place we could rent a large house for a base to visit Lauterbrunnen Valley? I thought it would be easier to stay in one place than stay at different places. I'd expect the whole trip will be 10 days, but I would only plan for 5 of them and let everyone have time on their own to plan where they want to go. Thank you.

One source is to go to VRBO website and input Lauterbrunnen. You will get a listing of several options.

Interhome, e-Domizil, chalet.myswitzerland.com, Airbnb, VRBO and local rental sites for the specific villages, such as Wengen Apartments & Alpine Chalet Services. Wengen is a nice, centrally located option with great views and services.

I'm looking at some of these properties and I'm confused. They say location is so many meters from lift. Is it easy to get from the places near lifts to town and the transportation. I'm thinking of staying as a base and making day trips from this location. Where would you recommend is the best location for that? Thank you in advance.

The most convenient location would be closest to the train station. That will get you the lift to Gruetschalp for the continuing train to Muerren, and the train to Wengen and Kleine Svheidegg.
