Has anyone heard of this language camp for teens in Ascona? (It used to be run by Ecole Suisse de Langues [ESL].) We're looking for an immersion language camp (Italian) in Switzerland or Italy. This forum is such a wealth of information. Thank you.
I haven't heard of the camp in Ascona but Tasis runs one of the better programs in Europe for teens. Tasis is an old, well-respected boarding school with primary campuses in London and Lugano, Switzerland. They run summer immersion courses for learning Italian at their Lugano campus during the summer. Here is the link. I have several friends who have taught at Tasis and another friend who sent her daughter to high school there - the school will take excellent care of your child and give them a quality, memorable experience with other teens from around the world.
Thank you for the response. We have looked into the TASIS camp. It looks wonderful but it's much more expensive than the Alpadia camp. I don't think it's an option for us. If your friends have any info on the Alpadia camp, I'd appreciate their views.
Also, thank you for all your other posts about Switzerland. We spent a fabulous two weeks there in the fall due, in part, to all the helpful advice we received here.
