Very last minute, but I just noticed that there is a cow parade in Lauterbrunnen today between 12:00 and 13:00. They start at Hotel Silberhorn and walk through the village.

I was in Lauterbrunnen at noon today and apparently missed it. A couple sitting next to us at dinner tonight (in Wengen) told us about it and showed us the video they had taken. I was so disappointed to miss it.

After checking into times and locations that this would take place, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not get to experience this event during my visit to Switzerland. I will be in the area of Wengen on 9/20 and am very excited I will get to witness this in person! So happy you shared this updated information.

So sorry you missed it, Andrea! I wonder how early the cows arrived in Lauterbrunnen this time. With these smaller events, the timing is usually based on an educated guess of how long it will take to walk the cows down from the mountain. In my experience, they often arrive later than expected, and people end up waiting around. Having them come through early and miss it completely is definitely disappointing!
