I am looking to book a short term rental in Murren in late June. I am assuming there's no need for air conditioning given the altitude and early season. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

No need. We were there for a week in a heat wave in June, 2019. It was nasty down low (Ballenberg Museum), but lovely up in Muerren. No A/C in our apartment and for sure didn't need it.

Even on days when it does get hot (as happened last summer) it cools down sufficiently at night. So the protocol is to keep the windows and the blinds closed during day time, and open everything up at night.

I have stayed in Murren 4-5 times and for long periods during the summer and have yet to need AC. So it is so uncommon to need it and it was way more common for us to close the windows after a bit because it was more then cool enough in Murren at sleep time.
