We have the Swiss Family Pass so can travel free for the day. We will be visiting Chillon Castle in the morning. Is there something nearby we can do before heading back to Neuchatel? Thanks!!

Take one of the lake boats from the castle to Lausanne, and then catch the train from there back to Neuchatel. The boat segment is very scenic and included with the Swiss Pass.
Another option is to head to Gruyere via train and visit the cheese factory, charming village, HR Giger Museum, mini-castle, and the nearby Nestle Callier chocolate factory in Broc.
