Do I need to buy a different plug in for Switzerland? I am also traveling to Germany, Hungrey and Austria.
For small appliances a type C adapter is sufficient, like the one sold here: https://store.ricksteves.com/shop/p/european-power-adapter
Welcome to the Forums
this topic is a frequent one here on the Switzerland Forum.
Here's a very informative thread from about a month ago https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/switzerland/swiss-plug-adapters
The 2-prong adapter for the rest of Europe will work in Switzerland, the problem is some older adapters have a different, rounded base that won't fit. If the adapter has pointy ends like this, it will be fine.

Go to Amazon and buy a set of every possible permutation (probably only 4) so you are definitely set
I just returned from Switzerland. My adapter worked for charging phones and tablets at 5 different locations during my trip. Amazon - EPICKA Universal Travel Adapter, International Power Plug Adapter with 3 USB-C and 2 USB-A Ports, All-in-One Worldwide Wall Charger for USA EU UK AUS (TA-105C). I have also used it in Germany, Austria and Romania.
The one that only worked at newer locations was (OREI Switzerland Power Plug Adapter with 2 USA Inputs - Travel 3 Pack - Type J (US-11A) Safe Grounded Use with Cell Phones, Laptop, Camera Chargers, CPAP, and More) The older outlets didn't have the third center hole.
