While I understand that some newer construction will have the different style, my continental 2-pronged adaptor worked everywhere I tried it in Switzerland this month (in 6 hotels and a train). Hotels will also sometimes have adaptors available to loan.

If you're only going to be charging the iPhone, this model should work - https://www.amazon.com/Ckitze-EU-Europe-Power-Adapter/dp/B0012S304W/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1522295767&sr=8-6&keywords=plug+adapter+for+europe . I'd suggest buying a couple as they're small and easily misplaced. The iPhone charger only has two pins, so a grounded Plug Adaptor is not needed.
