I'm thinking of driving from Chamonix, France up through the middle of Switzerland through Glitsch/Altdorf to Fussen, Altdorf is half way; is there somewhere to stay in these towns?
Thanks,
Jean
I don't think you will have any problems finding places to stay in these towns. They all have well developed tourist infrastructure.
Would you recommend this drive to Füssen? If not what other drive would you recommend?
Thanks again,
Jean
Here's the town's website for accommodations in the town of Altdorf and the surrounding area. http://www.uri.info/en/hotels-suchen-buchen/suchen-buchen
Would 1 night be enough? Just passing through?
I know nothing about Altdorf. But if that's the route you would take to Füssen, may I suggest continuing a little further to Flumserberg? It's a cluster of high-altitude hamlets on the side of a mountain, with an amazing view of the surrounding Alps and the Walensee. One advantage for you is that unlike many of the other high-altitude towns in the Alps, this one is accessible by car. You simply drive up the mountain. Very family-friendly as well.
