We arrive late on June 23 before the race on June 24, require accommodations for 4, and would consider a hostel, hotel, air b&b. Accommodations don't need to be luxurious as we just looking for a place to sleep. Ideas anyone?

It's been too long that I've stayed in that area but have you checked to Accommodations link on the official website of the marathon?

You are probably facing a minimum stay requirement for that weekend, due to the event. I checked the place we usually stay (Hotel Panorama) and that is the case.
You could change your plans to stay more than one night, or look in the nearby town of Riederalp (an easy walk on a paved path).
