Hello. I will be leaving Paris April 6, 2024 and taking a train into Switzerland. We will be flying out on Zurich April 17 for Venice. I have read so many books and blogs, it’s overwhelming! We will be buying the SBB travel pass. We are thinking one base stay in Lucerne for a few days. One night in Zurich before flying out. But we need another base camp. Any help with base stays and itinerary would be helpful. Hiking won’t be the top of our list because of weather but want to see:
Zermatt, Chateu de Chillon, Bern, Glacier and Golden trains, Grindelwald. If our wishlist doesn’t seem great, I would love to hear any modifications. Appreciate your suggestions!

That’s a lot to cover in 10 days but if you really want to “cover it all” you could try something like…
Paris > Grindelwald - 2 nights
Grindelwald > Interlaken > Golden Pass Express to Montreux - 2 nights
Montreux > Zermatt - 2 Nights
Zermatt > St Moritz on Glacier Express - 1 Night
St. Moritz > Luzern - 3 Nights (Airport is 1 hr Direct Train from here)
I personally would narrow down the list because it seems really exhausting to me personally. April isn’t an ideal time for the mountains as it’s the season between ski and summer so a lot of things close down. Maybe skip the Berner Oberland to focus on the lakes + Glacier Express…
